View Full Version : DCSSR and the LYNX Freestyle

Has anyone here tried running their DCSSR's from a LYNX Freestyle? If so, do they function correctly? Has anyone had any issues with them?

Thanks in advance,

I would like to know this also - I am running only SSROz and the 12-channel SSRs (both AC) off my FS. I'm using my Renard 16's for the DCSSR stuff but it would be good to mix-n-match. You might want to ping the DLA crew for an answer also...

I did post over at the DIY forums. Most people really weren't sure as they use the MR16 controller for their DC loads. I can't really test it as I do not have a Freestyle yet and RJ is out of them. I will have to wait until the COOP for both the Freestyle and the DCSSR. I was just hoping that someone here had given it a try.

OK - I can give this a try in the next week or so when the show is over. My FS and LOR are in a garden shed on the right side of my house and my Renard/DCSSR setup is in the garage on the left so it's not convenient to do at the moment. I am using LabRat's DCSSR layout but the circuit is identical to the v1.0 format of wjohn's DCSSR. I am running 5v into them and have bypassed the regulator as I have a regulated supply. Current draw is about 325mA when full-on/channel.

I think the main question will be the PWM/non-PWM aspects of the FS.

That would be great...THANKS!

I am running DCSSRs with an external 24vdc power from a Freestlye to control the mighty mini floods. Everything has been working fine.

Well there you go - that's good to know!

I also have used DCSSR's on my freestyle, no issues.

Now for a Mouser order!

Thanks everyone!

the DCSSR and AC SSRs 'should' work fine on any on the controllers, as long PWM is used for dimming on the DC boards.

Glad to hear everything is working out well,
