    Default Stand alone controller

Looking for something to run 100 pixels for an indoor fireplace.
Would like to load a timed sequence such as fire in X-Lights and be able to turn it on and let it go.
It would be nice to repeat sequence as long as it is turned on.

espixelstick v4 unify branch can play an fseq file over and over etc.

2021 New Tune-to sign. New 40x27 matrix at the house. Retiring the Strip based matrix. Updating some of the old window frames to the new house. Adding two new songs.
2020 Full sized show reworked for the new location. Only adding (famous last words) 13 RBLs that I finally got converted to using pixels
2019 - Just moved into a new home (yet another change of plans). Will be dim but not dark. Too much to do at the new place to leave time for a show. Dim show (3000 pixels) had regular visits most nights.

Use WLED on any ESP8266 based controller (it even runs on the ESP-01 based ESPixelStick variants)
It has a wide range of stand alone effects that you can run as a stand alone controller....
I have a how to for running it on ESPixelPOPS here:

EspArtStick SD-Card addition can run up to 512 pixels at either 5v or 12v. Run sequence from micro-SD card auto repeat from power on.

The ESpixelstick also has some built in effects....rainbow, chase, candle flicker, etc. Without diving deep into the code, can you make your own custom effects rather than use the SDcard on the ESPArtStick? For example my application is pathway walk lights. Normally I have a set of flickering white LEDs running but on occasions such as the 4th of July holiday, I may want to do some R/W/B effects that would be repeated. March might want some green effects. Halloweeen...well the orange candle flicker works well. You get the idea?
