Default Sound or motion reactive props ??

    Hey all

I have been considering these two ideas with some degree of enthusiasm lately and am interested what others may be up to in this regard .
If you have interest or ideas please post .

I have done a few birds (not Christmas but just for fun) that bang their heads to music using this sensor... could be applied to basically make any prop "dance" or respond to sound in some creative way.

I worked with Andy Clark (a member here on the forum) to create a motion sensitive prop (Andy did all the work) that used a camera to track a visitor and have the prop (a Dino head) track the visitors motion. Used a PI and a camera. Most software is available. all you need is to apply some glue logic (Camera tells you where the face is using face detection and those coordinates need to be translated into position for the prop.

2021 New Tune-to sign. New 40x27 matrix at the house. Retiring the Strip based matrix. Updating some of the old window frames to the new house. Adding two new songs.
2020 Full sized show reworked for the new location. Only adding (famous last words) 13 RBLs that I finally got converted to using pixels
2019 - Just moved into a new home (yet another change of plans). Will be dim but not dark. Too much to do at the new place to leave time for a show. Dim show (3000 pixels) had regular visits most nights.

These are interesting . I was thinking of viewer participation via sound or motion for various props .

Look at threads started by toozie for some interactive props. Not exactly motion or sound reactive but still something to think about.

I have an image in my head that someone made one of those instruments that sense your hands around the wire...I don't know what they are called. found it: theremin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjmLQ2Alwt4 But in my head I see them "directing" the display using that. So maybe something that would change the display (make it brighter/change the color) as your hands danced around the wire. Of course, we could do that with a camera these days but a theremin might be more interesting.
