    Default My first wireframes

These are my first attempt at making wireframes. No special tools, except a mig welder. All bends made with a vise, hammer and elbow grease. Santa is just under 5' tall and the star is 4'. made with 1/4 in steel rod. Pattern was made for santa by tracing an image with tracing paper, then scanned and enlarged to size. Enlargements were printed at Kinkos (wide format), then used my wifes sewing tape measure to measure pieces to cut. All said and done both pieces cost me about $20... I love this hobby,,, many thanks to this forum for the ideas and knowledge to do this !!!! DIYC Rocks !!!!

These look amazing!! I really want to start making my own wireframes, but I don't have the time or equipment to make any, not yet anyway. Maybe someday I'll get around to trying it out :D

Those look amazing. Nice work, especially for your first time out. The curves on santa look great.

I just got a 90amp welder at christmas. I haven't even opened the box yet. I promised myself I wouldn't even look at it till all this years stuff is stowed away. I want to make a Heat Miser/Snow Miser snowball / lightning fight.

BTW, Where did you pick up your steel rod. $20 for all those pieces sounds like a great rate.
