I just moved into my new hose and my dad happened to notice I perfect spot on my oak trees for some dog fighting planes. They aren't finished, the props will turn with motors and have snoopy and Red Baron cutouts in the planes

that is nice I can see a string of pixels going out the front of 1 on chase mode so it looks like you are firing at the other one

Snoopy imagines his doghouse is a Sopwith Camel, which is what this plane is

OK I'll give that to you,

I could tell that your plane was representative of a Sopwith Camel and I knew that is Snoopy's plane, just had to kid you a little.

But come on, just think what a flying doghouse would look like! :biggrin2:

Dang! I've always believed that it was a Sopwith Pup (http://www.flugzeuginfo.net/acimages/sopwithpub_simonthomas.jpg).

You are right it is a Pup, the service men called the planes Sopwith Camels because of the raised up area for the guns looked like a camels back

Actually, I am wrong. They are different aircraft; the Pup preceded the Camel https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sopwith_Camel

And it's quite clear that in the original cartoon strip, Snoopy was specific about it being a Camel. It just seems like the opportunity for a great little joke was missed :( I wonder whether Charles Schultz even knew that a Sopwith Pup had existed.

The kid in me always sees this...

Not saying it doesn't exist, but I don't think I ever remember seeing Snoopy in a Sopwith. He imagines it but I don't recall him ever on anything but his doghouse.

Should have knocked on the door, we were inside watching the football game

Thanks for coming by, as you can see I have some areas that need work before next year when I have a little more time
