View Full Version : First blown fuse in 5 years

I had an SSR powering 15 LED strobes with a few Xenon's in there, and 6 strings of 75ct GE Led's and a ropelight star.
Lost power to it last night after high winds and lot's of rain. The SSRez enclosure was dry as a bone. The fuse looks intact, but it has no continuity and there's a tiny ball near the filament.

Two questions; Doesn't seem like a one time event that let it go correct? Fuse Fatigue? LOL
AND its hard to find 7amp 5x20mm fuses locally. None in Radio Shack's stores, online yes. I saw 6amp on Amazon in bulk. Is 6amp too low?

Napa sells lots of fuse variations behind the counter if you ask to see them. :)

Try a local Radio Shack http://www.radioshack.com/radioshack-pk4-7a-125v-5x20-fast-action-fuse/2700146.html

Thanks Jack. I saw "online only" at first without going any farther into the site.

I was in my local radio shack today and I opened the fuse drawer and saw them :)

I ordered 100 6amp and 100 15amp for $15 off Amazon. I suppose that will last a lifetime.
