I have long been out of the audio game and it seems it has changed.. A LOT! I am looking to put a great sound system in my new float for next year but I find the forest of BS about car amps to be thick. I'm looking for advice from some people that have the knowledge about what's out there and the tech savvy to back it up.
The plan is to shoot audio out both sides of the float. I was looking into sub woofers but what I find is that no one believes that subs will do much in open air driving down the street unless I have some pretty big enclosures. (True or not?)
I can either buy or build boxes to fit my application. I also need some sort of amp. I have pretty much any voltage from 12-72VDC available. I know darn well none of these amp put out several thousand watts RMS like they claim.. So looking for a recommendation for an amp that is clean and won't break the bank.
The range above bass (mid and treble) are next on the list. Looking for some recommendations there as well.
The sound overall needs to carry of course, since it's a parade.. but it can't be harsh. Needs to be full with some punch at the bottom, but I'm not looking to break the welds on the steel on the float. ha ha..
Any legit help would be appreciated.
