How to mimic multi-color string lights

HI,
Is there an effect or technique to mimic a multi-color light string (in Vixen 3)? I've played around a litlle with "bars" but it does not repeat the color pattern by pixel. I thought it would be fun to make the audience think they were looking at a regular light string before I unleashed full capabilities. Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

Not sure I entirely grasp what you are trying to achieve but have you tried the Alternating effect?. It has some static options.
 
Thank You. I never looked closely at that effect for this (I thought it was to toggle between two strings actually) but it did the trick by allowing me to add a few more bulb colors.
