Eth0 and Wifi from FPP 9.3

Hi folks

I have a rpi3b running the latest FPP9.3 build

The Eth0 is connected to a SanDevice e862 controller.

How do I connect to the Wifi side of the FPP to upload new files and make changes without having to run out to the yard in freezing temps to open the controller box and connect a cat5 cable to my laptop?

Check out the videos on setting up "Tethering".
We use Tethering to access "stand-a-lone" props and scenes. It is great for us to drive up within range of each of them, log on, update sequences, change timing of schedules, etc. without getting out of the car.

I use my home network for the WiFi network, and with that one I can connect to the Pi from a pc inside or from my phone or iPad. I have a separate show network for eth0 (my home network is 192.168.1.xxx, and show network is 192.168.2.xxx), that the pi and a couple e682s are connected to via an Ethernet switch… this year I added a WiFi access point to that network, so I can also hop onto that wireless network with my phone or laptop and access the pi, and also the e682 config pages. I added some WiFi adapters this year so needed the WiFi AP anyway, but it has made it more convenient, since using my home network I couldn’t get to the e682s.

Pi3B has a built in wifi, so go to FPP9.3 Network and link wlan0 to your home network. Eth0 will still run your SanDevice, but you can connect to your files on your desktop/laptop...plus control FPP from those and your smart phone.
