A new Star Design

This is a new star design 25cm tall (ok in all directions). In the attached zip file there are stls to print. The design prints the arm 5 times and has a hexagonal center. The center section has two standoffs to attach to a 3/4 PVC pipe. It is designed to use bolts to attach the arms to the center element (I have to deal with a lot of wind).

Holes are designed for 12mm bullet pixels (Square will not fit into the holes along the edges). You have to push the pixels in until they click into place.

Files with pictures can be found here.

Hmmmmm , i'm going to need a larger printer for this one .

Nice design Martin . I'm assuming press fit bullets ?

You can open the .stl in Paint3D and get an idea. Basically he designed a hub with 25 pixels in the middle and a triangular point (times 5) with 11 holes each. In addition, the standoff he mentioned for mounting to a pipe.

Will be nice to see some video of it lit up.

The design itself was done by my son as a present for me. He does good work. My test print was done on a lulzbot 5 (Good sized bed) using 2.85mm filament.

I could not find pic of your star Martin . I reassembled your star and captured an image to share here for you .

The .stls are to large for the Ender

Yes , that link works . It's great that you shared this great printable for full sized pixels .
Your son did a excellent job .

Just added a video of the star running some patterns from Vixen. Pixels are running 50%. 20 foot 22AWG data + V- signal wire. 20' 16 AWG power feed. Ran fine at 100%. Could not get my camera to focus at 100%

There is an error in my xlights model that I imported into Vixen.. Can anyone see it :)

Without knowing that effect sequence in the centers full decay ., it had to be a guess.
Nothing stands out or a miss .
