Mine's pretty straight forward. I have been doing elaborate static light displays for years, like many of us, and wanted to pick something associated with the hobby. It was available on the forum... and the rest is history.

I am also involved with the theater dept at my daughter's high school and run the DMX based professional Strand Light board for the stage. I have started a workshop to teach students how to program some of the basic and advanced features. Kids know me as the lighting guy.

So... I apparently am "en..Lightened" (Sorry couldn't resist)....thus Lightman.

BTW... Not sure if you checked out my Icon photo.... the hat says "North Pole University". I wear it every year while setting up light displays.

As I get older I find it increasingly harder to remember cryptic usernames and passwords. This one is easy to remember.

jimbo3301

jimbo = nickname
3301 = last 4 digits of my phone number.

Cheers

Haha, mines pretty boring.
At first, when I was about 8 or 9, I created my first email address with the username of "sassharkey"
Sassharkey because it's my name! Spencer Austin Sharkey.. Eh, I made a mistake when I added the extra S! But it stuck with me for ages, everything I signed up on used Sassharkey.

Not until recently have I cut it down to Sharkey. Most forums don't have Sharkey taken, which I'm quite happy about. I've been using Sharkey because anyone I know just calls me Sharkey.

That's where I've come from

Boring... Frank is my first name, V is the first letter of my surname. I've been using this for a lot of years, dating back to bulletin boards and various work logins.

AussiePhil

Aussie - as i'm based in Australia
Phil - First name

For a few years i was simply philg and i still use that for email, and i would just sign posts with phil but when i joined here there was already Phil Short who did that so just added the Aussie in front.

For many years i used either cobra397 or cobra227, not for the legendary AC Cobra but for the Cobra CB radio i had back in '79-80.
Wombat: I was in Sydney in those days and Cobra and Pegasus terrorised the AM bands with multi hundred watt amplifiers
And then we became virtually unknown by the AM crowd up in the high 27Mhz SSB area with WWC227 for her and WWC397 for me, 397 related to the number of channels i had in the radio and WWC stood from memory for World Wide Club.
It became natural to join cobra and 397 together as a chatroom/forum account
Ah those were the days... sitting in the car at the beach watching the scenary going by chatting to friends in europe or the US.

Cheers All
Aussiephil
