I wouldn't be bothered what kind of lights they were, I'm not sure if what im going to say is correct but would I not need a DC SSR for the LED lights? Or some more kit to transform my AC SSRS? its just I have built 9 AC SSRS and 7 DC SSRS the DC are for floodlights and then my AC were going to be for the mini lights and I'd rather not have to spend more money as I'm already running short.

The 2009 sale of lights I really had no luck stocking up. I did get some white lights enough for my arches, but the colors were long gone. I have had a good bit of luck with garage sales craigslist and freecycle. I probably have gotten 200+ strand from those mostly free. I know you dont want to wait till the last minute but I would not pay the prices for lights right now. I need a good bit more red/green and I am going to wait till the 2010 lights come out. I know you said minis but I have a fair amount of c-9/ropelight if you want them we can figure something out.

And the C9's are in parallel, since each bulb is designed to run on 120V. They also take quite a bit of current, so you would find yourself running short of available amps quite quickly.

As for the minis, the 100 count string is usually 2 50-count strings that are independent. The bulbs are rated at 2.5V. So in order to run these on 240V, you'd need to rewire each 100 count string to have those 2 50-count be in series. It wouldn't be that hard to do.

However, I do think that by the time you did all this, after shipping from the US, you'd still probably just come out even with purchasing strings locally.

Maybe, I had a quick look for C9 sets of lights on the internet sold in the UK and couldn't find anything, we may call them something else I'm not sure. Could I buy a transformer for 240V to 120V and use that instead of having to modify the lights?
