    Default Vixen Refresh rate

Just curious, what refresh rates are you using in Vixen? I'm doing 50ms, but I can think of a couple of times in songs where I wish I was running 25ms. However, I'm not too keen on all of the extra work involved in sequencing at 25ms.

    this grasshopper is using 50ms.

Tried 25ms once and then woke up to myself.

Here are a couple of other threads that talk about some of the trade-offs when selecting the Vixen interval:

    (there are probably others, also)

Something that I did when I needed 25ms in a small area was to sequence the whole song in 50ms, then convert it to 25ms. It double squared everything for me. Then I just changed the few sections that needed that fast sequencing.
The good thing about this is that Vixen only sends out signals, when something changes, so only those small segments that I altered with 25ms changes, actually put a load on the communications at that time.
    It worked great.

There was a survey a couple months ago and I think 50ms was the most popular.

Don't drive yourself insane with this question. 50ms is great for almost any situation. I use it myself.

I definitely agree! I came to ask this question because I'd like to spin my mega tree 3 times in one second during a particular portion of a song. I did come up with a work around that works pretty well. My tree is (will be) 4 color 48 channel (12 each white, red, blue, and green). If I've got channels 1-12 for white on the tree, light channel 1 100% & channel 2 60%. Next frame, light channel 3 100% & channel 4 60% and so on. This gives the illusion of all being lit in sequence due to the difference between the two channels lit at the same time.

I do like the idea of sequencing @ 50ms and then switch to 25ms to finish the final tweaks. However, I think I'll be sticking with 50ms.

    Thanks for the input everyone!
