Anyone ever tinker with this idea and if so how far did you get ???
Secondly what design issues would be a result of going to a totally dc system ??
Thanks for the help guys as always.
Joe..
Direct links I believe.

Tinker? No Way. Engineers don't tinker, we drink beer, we investigate, we copy and we improve ( not necessarily in that order).
Seriously the answer is clearly Yes. Check out the Renard series with PWM and a DCSSR. That is a well thought out solution, that you may find areas to improve.
Your last question is similar to uni student asking a forum to do their assignment due in tomorrow. You won't get far.
What have you done on the topic to date?
What isn't working?
Are we talking about LED or incandescent lamps? do you want to run of batteries as implied by some of your other posts or a DC power supply. what voltage will you be using 9v or 110V?
Cheers

So far taking the idea of making a dc run board..Starting off with 120 v ac.Switching it to dc and going from there..I was starting off at looking how complicated the power supply would be to get 12 or 24 volts at say 40 amps from a 15 amp line of ac first. Then from there I did some poking around (which I will post the results of later) about dc dimmers that are already in use with the tv and sound stages.Proven designs that the people here might see flaws in.They do not look that complicated to build either..Basic circuit stuff just the fact they are using dc to control both bulbs and leds drew me to the idea.I understand the post above is limiting and misleading..I've tried 4 times now to get the designs I have posted but no luck as of yet.Once I get approved to this other site I'll be making another post that is much clearier in concept of idea then the one you replied to..
Thanks again as always for the reply.
Joe..
I hope this finally works...

PIcs of 2 ideas on what the new stage stuff is all about that is being used in the states as well as on a few other stage sets across the globe...This has been around since 84 but nothing relaly came about it till just a few years ago.
Both these do leds as well as incandlescents...So best of both worlds as it gets around the issues with bulbs not liking the pwm approach.
PLease feel free to comment..Again I hope these links work to this album I have them stored in.
Thanks again.
Joe..
Here's a clear veiw of the patent.
A mediocre person tells. A good person explains. A superior person demonstrates. A great person inspires others to see for themselves.
