Kulp K8-B 5V/12V Jumper Issue
I might be going crazy or I'm missing something very obvious, but......
I returned the Kulp K4-PB and purchased a K8-B and a Beagle Bone Black from Wired Watts. I have looked over the K8 and do not see a 5v/12v jumper. The manual shows version 3.1(?) of the K8.https://www.wiredwatts.com/docs/?d=a...8-9e04e666ad88
The photos of the K8 on Wired Watts and Kulp show version 4.0. All of these versions show a 5v/12v jumper.
I received version 4.3 of the K8-B and I see no jumper. Am I missing it? Is not there? Maybe this version of the K8-B doesn't have a traditional jumper.IMG_6020.jpg
HELP!

Re: Kulp K8-B 5V/12V Jumper Issue
First, I hate that you have to ask here. But if we are to move forward without tech support ...
The first thing I would try is to power it with 5v. Does it work? My k32 kind of burps and fizzles if the jumper is on 12v. If it doesn't work, then there must be a jumper and they would normally factory ship it to 12v. If it does work, it is unlikely they would jump it and factory default it to 5v. The K32's ship with the jumpers set to 12v, and for good reason.

The newer boards to NOT have a 5v/12v jumper. They handle 5V-18V automatically.

Thanks for the response. I didn't see a jumper and wanted to be very careful before applying power.

Re: Kulp K8-B 5V/12V Jumper Issue
I just called WiredWatts and asked about how the K8-B handles 5v vs. 12v. According to they very help tech, the K8-B will provide 12v to the pixel ports and will automatically reduce power to the BeagleBoner Black to 5v.

Yes. The onboard buck converts the 12V to the 5V that is needed for the BBB.
