I don't have a Genius board or access to their manual. Use the contact information you have from them to ask how it works and if that is the problem.

I really like the Genius controller. David Peace from Experience Lights has been helping me also, trying to figure out what is happening. He?s been great.

I finally figured it out. It?s the pixels from (China Light Store - AliExpress.) The controller doesn?t like them, now I don?t like them . I won?t be purchasing anymore from them. It looks like they used a couple of different gauge wiring throughout the strands.

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions.

So, you have different gauge wire. Why does that matter?

The wire in those particular pixels is anywhere from 28 gauge to 22 gauge, nothing bigger. Plus, copper & silver wire was used. I used Click-Its at first to connect wiring but the wire was so thin that I couldn?t get a good connection.

I?m going to cut a few pixels open to check the IC chips.

This is fairly typical. It is one of the reasons some of us do aggressive power injection.

2022 - Not sure yet. At least two new songs.
2021 New Tune-to sign. New 40x27 matrix at the house. Retiring the Strip based matrix. Updating some of the old window frames to the new house. Adding two new songs.
2020 Full sized show reworked for the new location. Only adding (famous last words) 13 RBLs that I finally got converted to using pixels
2019 - Just moved into a new home (yet another change of plans). Will be dim but not dark. Too much to do at the new place to leave time for a show. Dim show (3000 pixels) had regular visits most nights.

One thing I did realize from the pixel strands that I?m having trouble with is when I used test patterns ?green fade & blue fade? that when the green faded down it was more yellow than actually green. Blue, when it faded down looked more magenta. They didn?t fade down through the whole cycle.

50 pixels (WS2811) 100% All White test pattern. They fade down to pink and don't go totally off.

Turn them on at full white. If you see the string change color towards pink over the length of the string then you have a power injection issue.

The wire gauge and cca(?) wire doesn't explain why one red pixel is on all the time. Did you figure that out?

I just tested with power injection and it still does the same thing as videos above.

As for the color problems, you might be able to redeem with an aggressive curve on each color but I probably would just relegate them to an unimportant prop somewhere (bushes? ). But mainly, I would contact vendor and ask for my money back.

The solid color fades changing color would seem to indicate a wiring problem inside the pixel or an extremely bad batch of phosphor.
