If Ray knows you, you will get a quote within 24 hrs. If you are a new customer, it may take 48. I recently placed a custom order from Ray (21 - 100 + ct. strings @2 inch spacing), and I had it in my hands within 8 days. I tested every string as they came out of the box and had 100% lite up. Ray is the man!

P.S. if you ever have any type of issue with one of his orders, he will make it right ASAP!

Thank you much. I discounted Ray at first for obvious reasons being new to pixels but I'm seeing the light now. No response yet but I can wait. I may be new to pixel lighting but not with light shows so I know better than to wait till September to get this going I have time.

Got the quote from Ray. Positive side - prices were excellent. Negative - he quoted $115 US shipping via FedEx. This is for only 1500 nodes (30 strands of 50) and a small hand full of whips / Tees. For those who have purchased direct from Ray, is this typical shipping? I plan on asking Ray if there are lower priced alternatives but wanted to see what you guys think first.

Yes, that is quite typical. He can also ship by boat, which takes about a month, but is much cheaper. Just depends on how soon you want your pixels. Since Pixel strings can be cut anywhere, you might check pricing on 100ct strings, you might save a buck or two...

I'll email him and ask about water shipping. Yeah, this is why I am starting this early. Not my first light show rodeo just first year to use Pixels. Thank you

Shipping was one of two reasons I did not go with Ray. The other was the entire presentation VCS did on 12v pixels catching on fire, which turned out to be from a Ray batch. So I was like, "What are you getting by paying more, really? It's a roll of the dice."

I guess I missed that. Where did you end up getting them from and have they worked out ok?

I'm not prepared to recommend anybody--I don't feel I have enough information--but my cheap pixels were from Maxtronics and ledbluebell stores on Ali. My "better" pixels (1 failure per 500) I think we're from Mynor. They were all good for the order--I received them all quickly, the right quantity, everything worked out of the box.
It's what still worked after a year or two that was the problem, and I haven't isolated where the failures are coming from. Paying more for pixels that don't fail is absolutely worth it--if that is indeed what you are getting. A "guarantee" to replace your pixels for free doesn't count for much. By the time you get them replaced, you already felt all the pain. But at least someone who does that is offering to walk that road with you. I'm not yet sold that buying a name or a designer brand is substantially more than that. But I'm listening.
