My college project from Digital Logic 3429 class?
Digging through my desk (doesn't everyone do this the end of January?) and found this very interesting cube-like device made up of LEDs in a 3 x 3 x 3 configuration.
Cube 2020 Small.jpg
The only markings on this show RONS' 2020. Hooked it up to a USB port (there is one underneath) and it started running patterns. A lot of patterns.
Anyone know who put this out and if there are any instructions for it?
And yes - it is sort of fun to watch it. (Go figure.)

I built an 8 x 8 x 8 RGB cube - everyone who visits our house says they want one but I say 'no' because there aren't enough hours in my life. It's a lot of bending / soldering.

Yes, that was RonP's cube that he offered via the site. I picked one up as well. When it's powered it goes through some programmed sequences. I think he said that it was possible to control it, but I can't remember the details.
Just starting out in this madness. Let's see how far down the rabbit hole I go.
Ron answered on the other site. The cube can be setup as a Renard device with 27 channels and controlled that way. I haven't had a chance to try it, but the test sequences are running as I type this. Very interesting. Perhaps I'll get the chance to actually control it, but it will be after the "todo list" is taken care of. Perhaps 2028?
