New Santa Sleigh for 2022

Red color applied and preping for Gold outline and lower rails.

Applied clear coat to all the parts.
Here you can see the difference the clear coat makes on the paint.
The red color on the finished parts is the deep rich color we were looking for!
Will be assembling the sleigh today and measuring for lights.

Now I am looking for detailed info on connecting 4 WS2811 LED strips to a Pi?
The same Pi that will be the display in the sleigh would also drive the 4 strip lights.

Not sure I can help you there, LOL. I Don't use Pi's that way. I do know there are several Pi Hats, or capes, that give you 2 pixel outputs so you don't have
to try to connect wiring directly to the pins on the Pi. Maybe someone who knows more about that will chime in to help. Good luck.

Is the Pi linked to a show? Part of the show or just to run standalone effects and maybe things from the control panel? The standard gpio for FPP are 18 and 19. They will drive 800 pixels each. If you are going to be more than a few inches away, you might want a "null" pixel or level shifter between the pi and the strips.

Data String #2 Pin 35 - GPIO19 (Only on A+/B+/B v2)

Physical connection would be data and ground to strip 1. Power (V+ and v-) would be separately run to the strip. Strip 1 connect to strip 2. Strip 3 to the rPi and strip 4 to the end of strip 3.

Right now I am doing it local from the Pi. I would hope to control everything from XLights once its all competed and tested down the road.
I am currently running 2 strips on the underside of the sleigh (I am thinking I might run them parallel on 1 port) and 1 strip in the frontend under the dash...

Connected my 3 strips to one GPIO for testing.
All is working and this is exactly what I have been hoping for.
In the link you can see the lights being tested and the touchscreen going through the pictures!
