Is the Pi linked to a show? Part of the show or just to run standalone effects and maybe things from the control panel? The standard gpio for FPP are 18 and 19. They will drive 800 pixels each. If you are going to be more than a few inches away, you might want a "null" pixel or level shifter between the pi and the strips.

If you are doing it yourself, then the rPi has a number of projects that can do it.
Physical connection would be data and ground to strip 1. Power (V+ and v-) would be separately run to the strip. Strip 1 connect to strip 2. Strip 3 to the rPi and strip 4 to the end of strip 3.
