    By looking at your pic , the ic on the pcb on the right is connected backwards. All ic's should face the same direction .

    Or use a mag to verify DI and DO .

    I double-checked the arrows on all of them and they are all correct. Here is a pic

    Sum ting fishy there . Generally the ic should be on the same side all the way through the chain .

    I would be motivated to cut the data line and jump the pixel from the other side to verify .

    It is on the same side. That is what I was trying to show in the last pic.

    Ah , those are regulated 12v pixels .

    Sorry , I am not certain of the fail rate on those and the fact you used then for ground lighting . This makes them more susceptible to moisture and possibly trampling . Three years old is nothing one would think.

    Hopefully someone with same pixels will chime in .

    I have to be doing something wrong because two different strings are doing the same thing after I replaced pixels.

    is the first pixel in the chain different than the second pixel ?

    What happens if you cut out the bad , rejoin the chain then add the new at the end of the chain ?
