    Ethernet uses diff-pairs, so sharing ground is not necessary for that. However I have no experience sending AV from a Kulp. I use a Pi for that (for legacy reasons).

    Does the type of ethernet cable used (like Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6 and so on) make a difference in performance when using differential smart receivers with the Kulp controller?
    Just wondering if it's worth it to spend the money on the higher priced cable or save my pennies and get the entry level stuff.
