    Default Kulp K16A/B

Hello all! I have been searching the interwebs and this forum and canít seem to find an answer to this question.

Kulp states that his boards will drive WS2811 pixels. Do WS2812b pixels fall under this / will they work with all of the Kulp pixel controllers?

    Thanks!

    Thanks for the quick response.

    What’s the long of it?

2812b are generally in strip form and are always in a sealed package whereas
ws 2811 come in a variety of forms.

That said , I do have ws 2812b in string form .

I'd like to dig a little deeper into this and find out if this controller will work with WS2811 and WS2812b simultaneously.
Just got this controller a few days ago and would like to run a WS2811 string on one port and a WS2812b strip on another port.
    Is any special configuration required?
Being new to all this, I'm trying to soak up as much info as my tiny brain will allow.

The data protocol is identical for ws2811 and ws2812b. Only the form factor is different.

That's what I was assuming but just wanted to be sure.
    Thanks for the clarification.

Here's another question that I think I know the answer to but want validation on:
There shouldn't be a problem powering a smart receiver and connected pixels with 12v while the main controller and connected pixels are powered by 5v, right?

Just don't connect the power leads to the controller if the voltages are different. Share ground only.

The smart receiver would be independently powered...only data, via ethernet, would link it to the main controller.
