that is a dumb rgb strip. all leds on the strip do the same thing. you use a 4 channel dcssr to drive the strip.

2020 Full sized show reworked for the new location. Only adding (famous last words) 13 RBLs that I finally got converted to using pixels
2019 - Just moved into a new home (yet another change of plans). Will be dim but not dark. Too much to do at the new place to leave time for a show. Dim show (3000 pixels) had regular visits most nights.

This is how they labeled the controller.RGBW controller 5 or 6 pin.JPG

Oh I see, there are no addressable chips so the controller can only change colors. Well that's a deal breaker. Gotta go back.

So here is another pixel conversion question. Just received this 300 count 16' strip that I want to cut in half and make two 8' strips. It's a WS2815 strip. Sems there are soled joints every 30 LEDs, so if I cut it do I need to stay with that pattern or does it matter on this type? I'm asking because I do not see reference marks where to cut like other products have. Here is a pic:New Strip.jpg

Worked great. Now I have 2 eight foot sections of 150 leds to complete the outside vertical framing of my rambler.

Okay, converting the last one of my already owned pixel strips that I thought was identical to the other 24V one I just converted. Only this one has 5 wires. So why does this one have an extra wire in the center labeled Check?

Those are a mix of Pixels and dumb leds . The W line in most likely a - line . Also that is an odd spot for the cut line .
Would need more info on the product . Who is the supplier ?

Ah found it => Here is more info for you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    and here

I would use an Esp8266 Wemos or an Esp32 to control those strips .
A modified pixel code would work

It is an Intertek model 17084 from Costco just like what angus40 found above. The 1st one in this thread is the same brand, just purchased a couple years apart; also from Costco. I am going to ignore that Check line for now and just bring in the green data line and ground to the Sans and see how it goes. I was able to control the white line using the SSR I pictured in another thread and use the RP-4 header GIPO pins for direct control. A fill command or white pixel command turns them on with just general GIPO commands. Will let you know if it works again.
