    Default Store Front Pixel Installation

I have a business owner that has contacted me about putting lights in his business window. I think I want to use PixaBulbs. I would like to do this as inexpensive as possible. I have a $500 budget but it needs to be stand alone. I was thinking of using a Raspberry Pi to run FPP with a wired connection to the pixel controller. I would program in Vixen 3. Could I do this with a Renard PX1 pixel controller? He wants sound from speakers on the sidewalk as well. Does this sound doable? If not what would you suggest?

    Thanks

Yes, but why would you use a seperate controller? The PI with a pixelHat would be much simpler to install and maintain. Add an Audio dongle on the PI to drive your speaker and you are all set. If you can have the PI close to the display then you can go up to 5m between PI and first pixel without a pixel buffer. Add a pixel buffer and you can go another 5m. Keep adding and keep going.

2020 Full sized show reworked for the new location. Only adding (famous last words) 13 RBLs that I finally got converted to using pixels
2019 - Just moved into a new home (yet another change of plans). Will be dim but not dark. Too much to do at the new place to leave time for a show. Dim show (3000 pixels) had regular visits most nights.

What pixelHat would you suggest? I donít know why I didnít think of that. I used a matrix PiHat from Crockett for my tune to sign last year. I guess I didnít realize there was such a thing for pixel strings.

I use the RonP Pixel PiHat. However, a quick search does not show a source for it anymore. If I were to buy another one today it would be the Falcon-PI-Cap.

    I used a 3v-5v level shifter, inside heat-shrink tubing.
