Do not buy these RobotDyn's They will not program for use with e131 or serial.

They were only used for a short while to test new pixels though. Iíll have to break them out and test further.

I guess the esp-01S must have came with or without the Puya ,
the esp-01S I have are not Puya .

I am curious about those that you have posted and the non working puya variants .

Folks with them should try loading the Wled firmware and see if it will provide them with functional e1.31 .

I have loaded the Wled firmware on the esp-01 with the puya chip to test using the Arduino IDE
and now have 8 universes of e1.31 available and working

As a bonus the Wled has a sync feature that permits control of all other devices loaded with the same firmware .
Just an fyi that may help those with puya collecting dust .

I'm pretty sure those original ESPs with half a meg of memory should still work with the newer firmwares, but you won't be able to flash it OTA. In order to flash over the air, you need to have twice the available space as the program code uses. It needs to receive the new file and write it to memory while it's still running the current firmware before it erases that old firmware. So you'll likely be able to run the newer versions on the older ESP-01s, but only if you flash it via a serial uploader.

One oddity I encountered is a stubborn Puya that will only flash with a .bin .
I try a .ino and get errors galore .
