    I've said it before, and I'll say it many times before I don't do lights any more....
    Great ideas are worth copying! (Sincerest form of flattery, and all that.)

    Is this planned for outside? If so, how do the cups hold up with a drain hole in them? (Needed item if used outside - I think.)

    This web site has instructions for building props from different size cups. I made 15 Sparkle Balls in 2016 and have used them every year. I used staples to fasten and they are holding up just fine. Most lf the water from rain drains out the holes you drill for the lights. I used 50 count single color LED string lights.

    Have you had any issues with staples rusting ?

    I've heard of people using a soldering iron to plastic weld the cups together by just pushing the iron thru two cups side by side.

    Yea same here ,but going to try a different but basically same method with a hot nail so I donít ruin a soldering iron tip , and see how that works.
