Default Pixel Mini trees - XNOR

A loong long time ago when I installed my Pixel Mini Spiral Trees, i used channel grouping ( pixel control was hard in Vixen 2) to hide green LED, abd then apply random to Red and blue with a relatively low suration. this gave the affect of sparkling lights on a green tree. some times I would use use a XOR paste of the green to remove some green. Them was the days.

Out of interest, I am trying to replicate a similar affect is Vixen 3. Ideally what I want is Green trees with colour flashing lights.
Can any one give me some pointer on this?

    Thanks
    Matt

use a green set level on the base layer
Add a second layer above it, set it to color change.
Put a twinkle effect on that layer. Set the color to red.
Add another twinkle effect to that same layer and set the color to blue.

    Thanx for the reply.
I tried your method but it didseem to work well, so tried this
Add Colour wash, change gradent to green, lower the intensity to 25%.
Add Meteors with motion set to Randome, Rainbow Colour type, Count set to 80.
That gives the affect I want.
