That is basically my plan for my ridge line this year. I think I will go a little more than a foot but have to get up there with a prototype.
Has anyone used PVC for mounting C9 lights on a roof ridge? I've been using these https://www.christmasdesigners.com/r...bag-of-25.html but I'm looking for something to make it faster.
I was thinking...long sections of PVC with braces every X number of feet that go down each side of the roof ~1 foot. I could just zip tie (or something) the lights to the PVC and install whole sections at a time rather than install 100 of the ridge clips.
Any thoughts pros/cons and/or other ideas?

If you search for my post about keeping mini lights straight I think I have a picture of how I mount them. I'll try and find it when I have the chance.

Couldn't find pictures so I'll try to describe it. Basically I take a piece of 1x3 about a foot long and dripping 2 holes 6" apart to put 2 3" bolts though. On the bottom of the PVC i drill 2 hole 6 inches apart. So, the PVC just slides and sits on the bolts. The i take one of these... https://www.homedepot.com/p/Simpson-...TA18/100375025 and mount it on the top of the wood spanning across the skinny width. Mount it so the metal is overhanging equally on both sides. Then I bend the metal to the shape of the roof. In the future I am going to drill the holes all the way through the pvc and use a nut to secure them. That way I can mount it to the pvc on the ground. Lastly, a sandwich bag of sand placed on the metal holds it down.
