Default Looking for a beginner setup for Pixels for house outline and mega tree.

Hey everyone! I am looking to try out pixels for the first time this year. I used an Renard SS24 a couple years ago on an LED setup and had it sync'd to music and had an FM transmitter to play it in people's cars. The kids and neighbors loved it and this year I want to do more!

Is there anyone out there that has a setup they are wanting to sell that would be a good starting point for me? I have done some reading about pixels and it seems pretty complicated but, I think I can figure it out with the info and help from people here!

    Thank you in advance!

    Brant

The Falcon site has a complete controller in a box that you can purchase. But even with that there is a lot more you need to do. Go to the AUS Christmas site. They have a great 101 on pixels.

2019 - Just moved into a new home (yet another change of plans). Will be dim but not dark. Too much to do at the new place to leave time for a show.

Holiday Coro usually has complete kits available for the hardware side. You can use xLights and import a few sequences from others to get something running relatively quickly.

House outline and mega tree for this year is pretty ambitious With only two months until Christmas. Probably only one month until you would want to use it. Buying a complete kit is expensive for the mega tree. I believe HC can get you a house outline, but I doubt in time now. You might be better off waiting until next year and do some research and a little more planning. This isnít as easy as order it up from a supplier. Open the box. Put it up. plug it in and turn it on. Good luck on your endeavor.

I did the arch kit from HC my first year. Fairly easy to set up. The only part that takes a little time is building the arches.

You could start with a pixel tree. I did a pixel tree in one season but it wasn't ready until 12/24. That being said I didn't have much free time. Your best bet for a "quick" pixle tree will cost under $500

F16v3 $200 (you could by a F4v3 for $125 but I would spend the extra for 4x channels)

FalconPi Player - Free software for pi
    https://github.com/FalconChristmas/fpp

Xlights - Free software for making sequences (can use ready made sequences)
    https://github.com/smeighan/xLights/releases OR

    Free Sequences:

10 pc lot of WS2811 pixels on amazon $120: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
These will yellow after a season but don't seem to affect the color output.

Raspberry Pi $20-$30 local or Amazon for $40-$60.

CG-100 enclosure for the controller, pi and power supply. Holiday Coro is around $20 or Amazon for $30-$40

Power Supply (most will suggest $50 meanwell but I usually by a handful of cheaper $20-$25 ones)
    Here is one for $27

    Pixel Strips for pixel tree - 10 - $20 http://www.holidaycoro.com/PixNode-P...rips-p/767.htm

    Pixel Tree Mount - $22 - http://www.holidaycoro.com/PixNode-S...rees-p/750.htm

    Spike/Nails from HD 10"/12" around $7.00

    Cable and Connectors $20-$50

If you lived near Dallas i could provide you with some Renard controllers and a some PX1's.

Thanks a lot! Maybe I can add this to my display if I hurry!
