I want to switch to pixels to outline the house eves this year. Which do you like to work with and feel looks better.

    Pixel strips or bullets?

Bulbs—they look just like traditional lights that you would have on your house

/and by bulbs, I mean the C9 style—not the smaller bullets

Strips look nice, but are a major PITA to repair once out on your home. Go with bulbs, either bullet style or maybe even better the square flat ones.

I love the C9 style Pixabulbs myself. When I got into pixels I did my house outline with strip. Lets just say I heard the word "Las Vegas" one too many times describing my display... Strip didn't last long here and its a pain to weatherproof

The reason I ask is that my son also wants to start displaying for the holidays.
He wants to start simple and I said I would ask.

Can these type of C9 pixels bulbs

Be controlled simply with a controller like these

This way he can start with the C9's and get into more advanced pixel control next year.

-10 for WS2812 and higher strips
    -1 for WS2811 3:1 and 5:1 strips
    +1 for 12mm Bullets / square nodes.

2019 - Just moved into a new home (yet another change of plans). Will be dim but not dark. Too much to do at the new place to leave time for a show.

If purchasing strip , these are the most reliable I have found . I have used it since 2012 and only 1 pixel has failed due to hit with hammer which oddly enough only damaged the blue .

Yep, they look to be compatible.
