Default Code for 2812b LED strips

I'm running some 12v WS2811 LED strip off a D1 mini using a modified Forkineye code and all is good.

Using the same code with pin and universe changes on a different D1 mini I'm controlling some WS2815 Strips but I'm getting unexpected behaviour where the first 170 nodes will do as they are supposed to as controlled by Xlights.

However node 171 and all that follow are not and are lighting up with random colours. Even when xlights and the computer are off.

My question is do Ws2812b leds need a specific code?

look at the universe size in the software and in x-lights. I think one has a universe size of 510, the other 512. Make them the same and all will work well
    Errors for fun only.

Thanks for the reply. That didn't work. BUT I have been playing around with stuff and managed to get the WLED script onto the Node D1 with ESPFlasher and bridge the WLED software and Xlights and I'm running all strings perfectly on my arches now.

Tomorrow (hopefully) I'll build my mega tree and try it out.

What were you modifying? No reason the binaries wouldn't run just fine on a D1. Sounds like a configuration error though. Make sure the universe boundary matches on the ESPixelStick and in xLights.

Can you explain how do you bridge WLED software and Xlights?
