As i a guy who has installed dozens of them, do them by hand. a good crow bar will make it easier. I have tried using hand held power equipment to put them in almost snapped my wrist in 2.
I know that I read about people using auger-style anchors (earth augers, anchors) to secure guy wires for megatrees. There is a style that has a hex head suitable for installation/drilling/screwing/placement using a power drill. I remember viewing a video demonstrating them, but I don't recall if it was linked from this forum/site or if I chased a few links to get there. In any case, I searched and found reference to such "drillable auger anchors" but no sources.
Can anyone point me to a source for these? Thanks.
