    Default BeagleBone black Access

I have the 5 pin from the Beagle Bone Black plugged into my USB on my computer and I can't access the FPP page to change my IP address. What am I doing wrong?
I also tried the cat5 and did a scan but it can't find the beagle bone at all.

What I'm trying to do is, I have a P-10 board that I run in Multicast and now I want to give it it's own IP address.
    Thanks for your help

Thank you. I tried your IP address with no luck.
it has been a few years since I been on the page. I remember just putting in the 5 pin on the controller and the USB in the computer.
I tried all my known IP addresses with no luck.
    Thank you for your input.

No... it's not via the 5 pin connector unless you also have some sort of terminal program to then login via the serial console. If you do that, however, it's purely command line access only so you would need to configure network via editing the files. That said, an ifconfig or similar would at least print the ip address.

What you need is a USB cable to plugin to the mini-usb port. (and ONLY power it via that port for this, do NOT have the octo plugged into 5V as well). THat will power the BBB via the mini-usb and will also allow browsing via 192.168.7.2 or 192.168.6.2 (windows vs OSX/Linux).

Are you sure the FPP image was installed to the MicroSD card properly? Can you connect a monitor to it and see whats happening during boot?

This is the cable that came with the beagle bone. It is a mini usb on one end and a regular USB on the other. That is the only plug that is plugged in. It also powers the beagle bone.
Dan, you helped me setup my P-10 board with this system.
When I did the IPconfig it gave me 192.168.1.7. Which is my computer.
What I am missing is I can't get on the FPP page to give the Beagle bone a static address.

Yes it was as it ran my show last year.
What I can't get is the FPP page to give the Beagle bone a static address.
    Thanks for the reply

That's not the correct IP address (typo probably).

If you are on a Windows PC you get to the USB-attached BBB via IP address 192.168.7.2
If you are on OSX or Linux you get to the USB-attached BBB via IP address 192.168.6.2

I just tried 192.168.7.2 and it did not work.

Do I have to have the ocoto and the cables disconnected from the Beagle bone to access it?
