Default BTA06-600B with Renard SSrhc and SSR8 Boards?

I got these 3 Renard SSR boards because I wanted to make dimmable SSR's with Arduino. Since last year, I finally got the Zero Cross to work. Now the other problem is I did not realize the seller gave me the wrong triacs.. They gave me BTA06-600B's... So they are not working as wanted. Is there is any way I can trigger them with the dimming? They are just static, while my channel indicators work. Everything works except the boards, I am using zparticle's code and everything he did basically with just different relays. I am getting vixen data, and Zero Cross Works. The USB to Serial works and so does the code.

BTA06-600B triacs should work. They are not as LED friendly as the BTA06-600CW.

What is the part # on the optoisolators? They need to be the random cross type in order to have dimming.

They are the MOC3023 optoisolators. Could it be possible that it is not getting enough oomph to trigger? I am just using the USB ports to power my Arduino and the 1 board.

Don't worry about the triacs. The BTA06-600BW work great with LEDs and I send them with my kits on occasion.

If there is a difference, they are not the W version. But if it is ok then why are they always on and not dimming or even turning on/off?

I'm not familiar with zparticle's Arduino application, but it would appear that he used SainSmart SSR 8 channel boards.

I could not tell if his code had sourced (active high) or Sinking (active low) outputs.

The SainSmart SSR could work on either type of input depending on how it is wired.

The Renard SSR boards are hardwired for a sinking input.

Yes, I can just switch the code to make the low or high for the SSR's I have if the output is the opposite. But the thing is they are not even triggering on/off or dimming. They are just always on even when there is output.

I have to ask - do you have the DC grounds from the SSR and the Arduino tied together?
    Kevin

    2017 - Pi3 w/FPP controlling 8 ESPixelsticks driving 1250pixels and 3 Arduino MEGAS communicating with ESP-01s driving 96 channels
    2016 - 184 channels of Blinking/Flashing using 4 Arduino MEGAs and cheap home-made props.

Sounds like there is an issue with current leakage on the gate. Did you get the board cleaned up after you solder it? Triacs can be triggered by current through the left over melted flux.

2019 - Just moved into a new home (yet another change of plans). Will be dim but not dark. Too much to do at the new place to leave time for a show.

Yes, all my grounds are connected to the Arduino.
