Re: Renard 4 output controller vs pixel extenders
It's here: http://doityourselfchristmas.com/for...put-controller
Someone already took it and did a remix, but he didn't change it much other than to round a few edges and apply some circles (which i do not think actually saved filament as he suggested).

Re: Renard 4 output controller vs pixel extenders
looking at the renard 4 Universe controller Rev A. I was reading, and being new to this I saw that they did not com with Renard/DMX headers and shunt jumpers. I have no ideal what that means. Can some tell me what that is and where I can get is?

Re: Renard 4 output controller vs pixel extenders
It's a four output, 16 universe, pixel controller.
The last universe can optionally be set to drive a chain of Renard boards or to output DMX serial Protocol. The Renard/DMX headers and shunt jumpers configure the serial baud rate to match the Renard boards you're using.
The Renard/DMX header is a common 2X2 .1 pitch. Below is a 2X20, you cut it down to the size you need.

The shuts are .1 pitch also.

The Renard/DMX output pads on the board spacing is nonstandard. I made a pigtail using a short piece of cat5 wire soldered to the pads with a RJ-45 jack on the other end.

Re: Renard 4 output controller vs pixel extenders
I wanted to run this with my DIY Led Express 6 Port E1.31 Bridge so if I have this right I need to buy the renard 4 Universe controller Rev A then get the Renard/Dmx header and the shuts to set baud rate. Then some thing so I can put the signal in from my bridge. Do you think I can run a pixel tree with this

Re: Renard 4 output controller vs pixel extenders
Yes, the 4 output controller will run a pixel tree. It takes in Ethernet E1.31 data in and outputs Pixel data.
It optionally has one port to output RS-485 for Renard or DMX. It's also kinda unique in that it has an in and out port for the Ethernet E1.31 (daisy chain-able).
The bridge takes in Ethernet E1.31 and outputs RS-485 for Renard or DMX (not Ethernet).
The bridge has Pixel Extenders avaiable.. but I'm not sure if they could be configured to run one extender off the 4 output controller's RS-485 port.
The Ethernet E1.31 can go: -> 4 output controller -> bridge. Or, use a network switch to split the Ethernet E1.31 to the bridge and controller.

Re: Renard 4 output controller vs pixel extenders
So I ordered the 4 output controller from Ron and did not get any assembly instruction with it and can't find any. Also it said only need to solder a few through hole components. all the components need to be installed. I have no problem building this controller myself but where do if find the layout for there components.

The user guide lists the components to be installed and the location.

The picture shows everything in place.
