Are the ends just staked into the ground or is there a bottom ring?

They are twisted together just like a bread tie. The rope is tied to a bottom ring.

I'll have some pictures of them when I take them down this week.

I've always wondered about parachord. With the weave, doesn't it stretch?
(I know it did when the chute opened. )

Well... it was by mistake but it's technically correct. I ran it on 01/01/2019 and shot the video a few days later. So... it's a 2019 display. I didn't say 2019 season.
