Default 2018 GE LED Color Effects

I purchased 6 sets of the 50-count GE LED Color Effects C9 for the house this year from Lowe's. I had seen reviews on the lights being out of sync and saw online that there were was to hack them so I figured I would give them a whirl. (Link at the bottom of post)

Once I got them and started looking, it appears these are not hack-able.

Is there any option to at least get all the strands taking signal from one controller so they can sync?

I did a search and couldn't find a definitive answer. Any feedback or pointing in the right direction is appreciated. Looks like AliExpress and pixels are my friend for next year.

    Thanks,
    Michael

This thread talks about some of the newer GECE lights and the fact that many here are not getting them to work: http://doityourselfchristmas.com/for...ed-line/page10

Perhaps posting your question inside that thread could get more eyes on it.
