    Default new car radios

Has anyone heard of the newer car radios having a delay in them.

at the end of last year I spoke with a couple of people that said the lights were not timed to the music.

anyone else get reports like that.

Some radios have a buffer in them now. Kinda like a DVR. I can pause live radio for up to 30 minutes. Maybe that's causes a slight delay?

If you clear the memory in your radio prior to changing the station it will not buffer. FFWd button will clear it in most GM vehicles

Makes sense; most radios these days do the magic in software; the RF gets digitized and passed thru some form of a DSP to demodulate it (and convert the digital data in Sirius et al) to audio. All of that takes time. Far cry from cat's whiskers and oatmeal containers...

I think that was the most fun I've ever had with radio. Thanks for jogging what little memory I have left.

My next question is ..... anyone concerned about this and if so what are you trying to do to overcome it.

There is really nothing you can do, it is not an issue you can correct without others suffering the result. You could use speakers, but the neighbors may not like it.
Maybe a voice over explaining that the radio buffer needs cleared (if that fixes it).
