Default Using FPP to run Vixen Show with Videos?

Can FPP be used to send mp4's to a digital projector during a show? The projector has HDMI input so that would be used along with the USB to the DIY controller.

yes the FFP can. There are certain projectors it supports. From what I've seen is people run a separate RPI just for the projector not the same one running the show. The FPP software will keep them in sync. You just need to read up on how to do that.

You can use pretty much any projector. The FPP gives you HDMI and composite video outputs. So you can use it with any projector that will take those signals or one compatible with them like DVI. The "certain projectors" part that jcook was talking about was to control the projector from FPP, as in, turn it off and on. that's a much more limited list.

Note that there's been some issues with the FPP 2.x series and keeping video in sync. You may be best off sticking with the FPP 1.9 or 1.10 for this season while they work out the bugs with the sync in 2.x.

Your thread title mentions Vixen, but Vixen really has nothing to do with the video. You'd create the video content in some external video editing program./
