    Default Pixel Extender Trouble SHooting

    Hey Guys,

Just looking for some guidance. Got a new batch of pixel extenders this year to solder together, and I've assembled a couple so far and I cannot for the life of me get them to work.

I'm using a bridge that is working on my old batch of pixel extenders from last year, and it lights up the pixels no probelem. I connect a new extender to the same bridge and pixels and nothing. The green power light is lit on the extender, but I can't get any action. At first I thought maybe I soldered something wrong, but tried my second new one and it's a no go too.

    Any thoughts?

    Rob

Time to go back to basics for troubleshooting...

Have you confirmed your ethernet cable works (plugged in to one of the working extenders and it works)

You should also post a pic of one of the extenders so another set of eyes can look and make sure you put it together properly

Another quick thought. Are you using the same lights from last year or new ones? I ran into an issue earlier this year that the old pixels worked fine but the new ones did not. If that is the case, check the firmware version on your bridge. There is an update to the firmware that is required to make the newer pixels work. You might want to look at the following thread:

I updated firmware already, but lights and ethernet cable are not the issue. Testing with all the same equipment, except for the actual pixel extender itself. I'll try and post a pic.

Not seeing much or anything wrong there. Maybe a pic of the other side? Have you checked the fuse? Is it good? By the looks of it, I assume you are using 12v pixels since the 5v by-pass is not installed.

Found the issue, faulty pigtail i was using. I left it tied to the terminal strip as I swapped between new units to test. Put on a different pigtail and away it went.

Thanks for all the trouble shooting tips.
