Default I see Arduino control, but does raspberry pi work

Does anyone use raspberry pi instead of Arduino to control lights?

Pi plus fpp is a major provider of lighting control. I do not tell people to use Arduino. It is pretty under powered.

2018 - Moving and going to visit my Daughter in New Zealand. Most likely I will be dark or nearly dark, Some static stuff that is simple to put up.

Here's something you won't see every day....

    pinard-8_prototype.JPG

It's the prototype of a new controller from DIGWDF... the PiNard-8. It's a Raspberry Pi Zero (or Zero-W), on-board 120vac-5vdc 2A power buck, 8-channel Renard or RenardDMX controller with zero-cross circuitry for a completely standalone or integrated light show for AC or DC external SSRs. Hook up an amplifier (or FM transmitter) for audio or use the HDMI output for video... It's a powerhouse in a small package (but no, it doesn't fit in a TA-200 case)...

The DIGWDF Store will be closing at the end of this year.
While it's still open, please check us out for blinky-flashy gizmos that nobody else on the planet makes!

I was actually reading your running dev commentary on that device lol. Quite entertaining "Guess what guys? Look at this new invention that can do ........" , "sooooo....turns out ____ won't work...". Very interesting look at how development of one of these evolves.

I ask because it seemed like I only saw references to PI for matrix or experimental projects, but Arduino mentioned repeatedly. I just picked up the newest model Pi 3 B+ for experimenting and testing

Video, Raspberry PI, fpp and Falcon controller: https://vimeo.com/194117296

Many, way more intricate, then my video.

    I use PI3 AND Arduino.
    Kevin

    2017 - Pi3 w/FPP controlling 8 ESPixelsticks driving 1250pixels and 3 Arduino MEGAS communicating with ESP-01s driving 96 channels
    2016 - 184 channels of Blinking/Flashing using 4 Arduino MEGAs and cheap home-made props.

Hi, same here. Pi3 running FPP as show player and P10 controller, with Arduino Pixel controller recieving data via E1.31.
