    Default Pixel power/data cable

    Hello,

I am fairly new to the forum and not sure if this is the right place to post or not. I have been looking into different types of wire/cable to run pixels with. I know some use Cat5/6, but personally not a fan. I recently came across RG-6 coax cable with power conductors.

Has anyone used something like this? would there be any issues with it? also i haven't dug into it to find the best pricing, but at first glance it seems reasonably priced.

    Thanks for your guys input.

I use 4 conductor speaker wire from Monoprice. It is available from 18-12 AWG in 100 and 250' reels. Pure Copper not CCA

I use 18/3 SJOOW wire that I buy online or at the local hardware store. It does the job for me and it's flexible.

Plus 1 great for outdoor, but not in walls. I use it in 18 16 & 14 gauge. This stuff lasts for ever and is UV protected.

Flexible rubber jacket that lays flat....doesn't hold a shape like the thermal plastic cords.

I use el-cheapo 14-2 and 16-2 zip cord from home depot and lowes. For data I use the 22 AWG RGB cable (4 conductor), split into two conductors. I buy it 100M at a time.
