    Default Christmas Display Award/Trophy?

My HOA does an annual Christmas light contest but they do not have a winners sign or trophy of any sort. This will be my first Christmas in the neighborhood and I wanted to either build a trophy or make a sign that would celebrate the winner.

I was wondering who has an award or trophy from a local or national contest? Post a picture if you have one to help me with ideas!

Just make sure you build it to fit your shelving

Seriously, though, a re-purposed real estate sign that could be placed in the winner's yard would be simple and effective.

My plan is to win this year. I saw the pictures from prior winners and they, while festive, are no where near my scale.

This is my fall back plan.

But I would like to have a trophy with a plaque of some sort that the yearly winners name can be engraved on.

Strategically, politically, and in every other way, since this is your first year in the HOA neighborhood, donate the trophy but specifically take yourself OUT of the competition this first year. Do everything you can to celebrate the work that the others do.

You will most certainly get the recognition you deserve, but the point is for everyone to win. Donating the trophy and competing for it when you already know you're likely to win it may not sit well with many others and may not foster the neighborhood friendliness you hope to achieve.

    Just an idea....
