Question about signatures
I went to set my signature and found that you can only have 20 characters. Not even long enough for an average URL.
Then I see other people's signatures with several lines of text and about 100 characters.
What are the rules for signatures and why the discrepancy?
thanks,
Bob

Re: Question about signatures
Apparently you gotta pay for it. I found out when I needed to remove something in my sig. that was no longer applicable. It kept not taking the change. Then when I did get it to change I found I was stuck not being able to put what I wanted. I finally figured out I forgot to pay the renewal so now I've got an attitude towards paying.

Re: Question about signatures
I didn't even see where that was an option. So it's an ongoing subscription?
I don't think that interests me either.

You should see a yellow banner near the top of every post that has a link to supporting memberships.

Re: Question about signatures
So from my experience it seems you could pay for 1 year then let it expire and you're signature will stay long you just won't be able to update it.

Please consider becoming a supporting member, it's only $20 a year. You get improved signatures and can also participate in money saving group buys.
You can purchase a subscription by going to Settings>My Settings>Paid Subscriptions, running this site isn't free and I consider it a trivial expense compared to the rest of the money we throw at this hobby.

Re: Question about signatures
As far as I am concerned, I have gotten advice and support that is worth more than I have paid. It has been worth my money to be a part of this site.
2020 Full sized show reworked for the new location. Only adding (famous last words) 13 RBLs that I finally got converted to using pixels
2019 - Just moved into a new home (yet another change of plans). Will be dim but not dark. Too much to do at the new place to leave time for a show. Dim show (3000 pixels) had regular visits most nights.

Re: Question about signatures
The best part of this post is I realized I could turn off everyone else's signatures.

Re: Question about signatures
Thanks for all the input. I may choose to support the forum. But this is secondary to me. I am mostly a Halloween guy. I have been in the Halloween section and I like it, so I will consider it.
