Snowflake with ws2811
Yeah! Worked on the math and designed a single piece that can be linked together to make a snowflake (10 pieces of the same part) approx 18” (46cm).IMG_0948.jpgIMG_0949.jpg

Going to modify it to allow tie wraps between each pixel.

Re: Snowflake with ws2811
When you have it setup the way you like it will you be selling them or listing it on Thingiverse? I think it looks great!

I hate to break it to you, but that snowflake is a myth!

Re: Snowflake with ws2811
Looks good. I am printing the one now that is on thingiverse with the bullet nodes laid flat but like this with the nodes sticking through. Great work to have it be one piece. My only thought is in stead of the nubs going through to connect the pieces, just make them holes and use zip ties. I am sure being out side the little nubs May break off

Re: Snowflake with ws2811
Ok gonna make 5 more and extent the snowflake one more level then only use every other hole this should reduce the nodes to 45 instead of the current 60. Only problem now is temperature sensor on my 3d printer has broken lead so temp is not monitored. Ho hum waiting for part now. Anyhow it's posted on Thingiverse.
BTW: a little superglue will prevent it popping apart. The part was printed with 100% fill.

i am looking to invest in a 3d printer? how big is this design in regards to how big a bed it will fit on. currently i am eyeballing the ender2 as a beginning printer.
