    Default Mega Tree.. HELP

Ok i'm running into problems with my mega tree. I have 8 strings of 92 pixels on my alphapix v3 controller - i want to make 16 strands of 46 pixels with that on my tree.
My strings start at then top of the tree then fold at the bottom and go back up for each of the eight strings. I have cut the 92 count in the middle and soldered a 1 foot piece of wiring in between the 2 sections of the string for spacing at the bottom of the tree .

In xlights i have setup the controller by adding eight universes (one for each string) with 510 channels even though i'm only using 276 per string i guess, but i didn't think that mattered.
In layout i have created a tree with 8 strings / 92 nodes / 2 strands per string.

Now the tree lights up when i do a test pattern in xlights , but the none if the patterns are lining up at all everything seems way off.

I've tried looking at zig zag in the controller setup and setting it to 46 for each of the eight and then changing the xlights setup so that its not doing the fold but it doesn't seem to fix it.

What am i doing wrong, Help

dumb ? why top to bottom and cut if you went bottom to top you would not have to cut and add wire

does the clights preview light up correctly? you have top left for start?

open the node layout. does it look like you expect?

go into test mode and and turn on pixel one. is it in the right place? pixel 46? 47? 92? 93?

think you need to setup xlights to the right amount of channels for each universe things should match you are using 276 ch on each universe maybe that would help

your mega tree node layout needs to match the controller layout. so, node 1 is going to be channel 1,2,3. node 46 is 136,137,138. node 47 is 139,140,141. node 92 is going to be 274,275,276. this is probably all cool. but node 93 is channel 277,278,279. those channels below to universe 1 but you want them to belong to universe 2. easiest way to fix is to change the channels in universes 1-8 to be 276. report back after you make the change.

More for my edification, would you model it as he did 16 string of 46 or should you model it as it is built, 8 stings of 92 pixel w/ 2 strands/string?
