Default XLights Odd Problem - need help

I am running xlights and have 4 vertical columns setup as matrix's. 2 of them work perfectly, the 3rd one has an interesting problem (4th i am building today). It is 54 pixels high with 4 rows.

When say doing a test sequence for the entire house in red, everything goes red except for the last 48 or so pixels in the 3rd column. They go green. I know control works because they will all turn white, or if the house blue they go red. I thought maybe it was a splice point where a new strand starts but it was the middle of a strand.

I have narrowed the problem down to xlights, at least i think. I came to this conclusion because if I run test patterns from the controller itself (e6804 from san devices) the matrix all turns to the same color.

I also tried cutting where the issue starts and removing the last correct pixel and connecting a new strand, but the problem is the same.

I am using RGB ws2811 square nodes from Holiday Coro.

    Thanks!

Could be a few things.. model setup.. or possibly a render issue. Sounds like you have them doing a variant of RGB or a channels is missing somewhere. Are you testing in the "test" section or running a sequence when you have the issue?

My guest is it is a mismatch between the universe size in XLights and the controller. Maybe 510 vs 512.

You are correct my friend! Should they be set to 510 or 512? 510 seemed to fix this fixure.

Some controllers only support 510. Others are happy to use 512. What is important is they match.

yup, this was the issue for sure. Now that i have them all set to 510 other odd problems are fixed that i thought was my sequencing or something. Thanks!

new this year to x lights.

I had a feeling it was the 510/512 in xlights causing the problem I had a similar problem when I got my 682
