    Default Simple antenna for transmitter

    Hi everyone

I need to add a simple antenna to this transmitter:

From what I understand, a short length of wire should work fine. I only need to go about 35 feet from the front of my house to the street. Any advice?

For anyone that has done this, I have the same kind of module. Does it matter what kind or gauge of wire you use? And do you just solder it on?

I used a 23AWG strand of wire about 30 inches long (a piece of a Cat5 cable I cut up). Just soldered it into the hole marked "ANT". Works great out to my front yard and driveway...haven't tested max distance yet (because I'm having sync issues with my lights still).

Thank you for that, I'll do the same then. And the board can be powered by the USB port right? At work and haven't had a chance to test it out yet.

Yeah, powered from USB and shows up as a USB sound card. Even remembers the set frequency when unplugged and plugged back in.

    Hi:
Where did you obtain the transmitter?

Even though my little FM01 is working great ( over 1/2 mile on a dipole ant inside a building) I am always interested in other lower devices.

    Thanks

I got it from a member of this forum but you can search PLL FM transmitter in eBay and see a bunch of them.
