Default Painting a string of lights

I've got a string of strobe LED lights which have green wire and I want to wrap around a white PVC pipe so wasn't the wires to be white. Certainly easier to just get white wire string. I'm considering painting them with white paint. Anyone try this? Turn out good or bad?

It would be easier to paint the PVC green.

Yes it would. I want to make the pvc look like a red/white candy cane. I just checked and the bulbs cannot be removed so I would have to take the all offvtyo attempt painting. I think I'll figure something else out or just put them on as is.

Can the lights and wiring fit INSIDE the PVC? You could drill holes appropriately-spaced and poke the lights out. It would be tedious - I have done similar things before - but it works.
