Re: Water proofingn cardboard?
Found a local sign/laminating shop that is giving me two options. For $15.00 they will laminate the whole buddy. Damn good deal I thought. For $60.00 they will take a high res picture of it, make a vinyl sticker and put it on some coro. The sticker on coro should be much better but she said since it's a picture of a picture it might get a little grainy. She said it would turn out much better if I had the original file, but I don't.
It's relatively cheep so I think I might have her take the picture, then laminate it. If I don't like how the laminated version turns out I can have her print the sticker and mount it.
I'll up date the thread for posterity's sake when it's done.

You couldn’t find a high-quality image of buddy online?

Do the coro/sticker. Trust me, you shouldn't lose that much definition.

Re: Water proofingn cardboard?
What about 1/4" or 1/2" Sintra to apply the sticker to? When I worked at a tradeshow shop that did most of the major auto shows displays, they used mostly Sintra. Its a solid plastic, but flexible for the thinner stuff. You would have to use a router (or bandsaw) to cut it out to the shape.
